Deleting Ancillary Files
There are two methods to delete an ancillary file from Open Plan Explorer.
These methods are as follows:
- Select the file and press the DELETE key.
- Use the Select File to Delete dialog box. (You access this dialog box by displaying Manage Files from either the File menu or the context menu and clicking Delete.)
You cannot delete a file that is open, referenced by another file, or to which you do not have the appropriate rights.
Depending on where the file is located in the hierarchical view, Open Plan interprets the deletion as follows:
- My Folder: If you delete an ancillary file from within this folder, Open Plan deletes only the links you created to these files. No data is deleted from the data source.
- Open Plan Library: If you delete a calendar, resource definition, or code file from within this folder, the file is deleted from the data source, and any links to the file are also deleted.
