Calculate Budget Activity Costs

Use this procedure to calculate budget costs for activities.

To calculate budget costs for activities:

  1. Open the project for which you want to calculate budget costs.
  2. Decide on the type of dates (early, late, or scheduled) on which you will base the budget.
  3. If you plan to use scheduled dates, perform resource scheduling.
    This step is optional if you will use either early or late dates.
  4. On the Processes tab, click Cost Calculations.
  5. In the Calculate Costs dialog box, select Budget Cost.
  6. In the Based On field, select the type of dates (early, late, or scheduled) on which you want the budget to be based.
  7. If you want Open Plan to use escalated resource costs, select the Use Resource Cost Escalation option and click OK.
  8. Display the Activity Information dialog box to view the calculated budget for the activity.
