Set a Project as a Retainer Project
Depending on your role in WorkBook, you can set a project as a retainer project as long as the project still does not have jobs linked to it in Resources. Once the retainer project is set up, you can create a master job and link that job and any other retainer jobs to the retainer project..
Note: You must have permission to add, delete, and modify resources to complete this task.
To set a project as a retainer project:
- On the main toolbar, click Resources .
- On the right side of the grid toolbar, under the filter icon , select Resource Default Grid from the drop-down menu.

Select the client for which you want to set as a retainer project by completing any of the following actions:
- In the Search in Grid field, enter the name of the client, then select it from the grid.
- Click the Filter field next to the Search in Grid field, select Clients as your filter, and select the client from the grid.
- On the grid toolbar, click Resource Information / to display the client card.
- On the side toolbar of the client card, click Projects .
- In the client card grid, select the project that you want to set as a retainer project.
- On the top toolbar of the client card, click Enable/Disable Retainer Job .
