When there are time phased costs (resource assignments) associated with a work package, and you change one or both of the work package requested baseline dates, the time phased data (costs) needs to be respread. If the dates have changed but the number of periods is unchanged, the previous profile is shifted to match the new dates and is re-rated. If the new dates span a different number of periods, the system attempts to reproduce the existing curve within the new dates. This may result in a stretching or shrinking of the curve, based on whether the number of periods increases or decreases.
To change the work package dates and respread the costs:
On the Navigation menu, click Workflows » Change Management » select a Change Request.
In the List View, select the Change Request.
On the General tab of the Change Request Form, click the Change Details button. The Change Details view and barchart displays.
In the Change Details grid, select the work package associated with the dates you wish to change.
In the Change Details grid, or on the General tab, do one or both of the following:
Select a new date in the Requested Baseline Start date field.
Select a new date in the Requested Baseline Finish date field.
Click on a different work package, or navigate to a different tab.
A message displays asking if you want to adjust the time phased data.
If you click Yes, all resource assignments for the associated class are respread.
If you click No, the respread is cancelled and the dates revert back to the previous dates before the change.
