PM Compass has been designed to have one place where you can view information for a large number of projects and applications, and where information from project contributors is entered and approved before updating the corresponding source system, such as Cobra and Open Plan. This information center is called Projects.
The Projects form allows users with access rights to select a project and complete any of the following tasks:
Enter cost progress or schedule progress performed on work packages or activities assigned to you
Approve cost progress or schedule progress that has been submitted for approval
Access the Cost Analysis and Schedule Analysis views, which provide a read-only view of the full project
Access rights are established in the EPM Security Administrator and, for each project, on the Access Control tab of the Projects form.
The Projects form displays in two formats:
List View — When you access Projects, the form displays on the right pane in this view. It allows you to see the complete list of all available projects in PM Compass, which you can print or export to Microsoft Excel.
Form View — When you have rights to the Form View, you can see the Form View button on the Projects toolbar. Switch to this view to add, modify, or delete a project.
Use Project Visibility to make a project (or subprojects) visible in PM Compass.
A master project is like a shell project that contains many subprojects. It allows you to work with any number of projects as if they were a single entity. You can access master project progress using the Enter/Approve Schedule and Cost Progress views on the Navigation » Projects menu or from the Projects List view. When you use the Project Search dialog box, you can select the Show Master Projects option to limit the search to master projects.
For more information, see Master Projects.
The Enter Schedule/Cost Progress and Approve Schedule/Cost Progress Navigation menu options provide an easy way for you to access progress for master projects. Another way you can do this is to select a project from the Projects List View. For more information, see Master Projects.
The My Cost Analysis and My Schedule Analysis navigation menu options under Projects display data from the selected master project to which you have rights. These menu options provide an easy way for you to analyze activities and/or work packages assigned to you based on the assignment mapping hierarchy.
For more information, see Master Projects.
