System Variable 909: Show Both Voucher and Company Currency on Expense Entry
Use this System Variable to determine if a second currency field should be enabled on expense entries.
Expense entries can be created in any configured currency. The company currency value of an expense entry is automatically calculated based on the currency rates listed in WorkBook.
This System Variable is disabled by default. When it is enabled, the company currency becomes visible in the Details sidebar and can be edited independently of the specified currency amount of the expense. Users can then create expense entries with a specific currency exchange rate, which overrides the exchange rate defined in the system. For example, if an expense entry is for 20 GBP and the calculated exchange rate to the company currency, EUR, is 22.37, the EUR amount can be edited without changing the GBP amount.
Note: The amount that a user can deviate from the system's exchange rate is determined by System Variable 969.
System Variable 909 also affects the credit card expense import. If the import contains a currency amount column, WorkBook can override the exchange rate if this setting is enabled. If it is not enabled, the amount is converted based on the system's exchange rate.
It may be necessary to perform a refresh when modifying System Variable values.
