Holding Accounts for Creditor Invoices

You can use a holding account to allocate costs to jobs that are not related to a creditor.

For example, perhaps a creditor invoice was paid via a bank direct debit. If the bank account that was used is a holding account, you can post the creditor invoice to that account, instead of specifying a creditor. You can then post the costs (invoice lines on the Creditor Invoices page) to the individual cost lines in the General Ledger or to the jobs to which they relate.

You must first create the holding account on the Holding Accounts page (Settings > Finance > Holding Accounts) before you can use it in for posting creditor invoices. Be sure to select the Use in Voucher Management option on the Holding Accounts page to make the account available on the Creditor Invoices page.
