Use the Financial Budget submodule to enter a budget for a dimension using the budget account linked to that dimension. If the account is already linked to a dimension on the Dimension Budget tab, you can no longer enter a budget for that account on the Account Budget tab. In this case, you must use the Dimension Budget tab to enter a budget for the account.
To perform this procedure, you must have access to
Finance & Administration as defined in the User Access Rights submodule under
Settings.
To enter the budget for a dimension:
-
On the main toolbar, click Finance & Administration
.
-
In the left pane of the Finance & Administration screen, click
.
-
If you have more than one company in your system, use the drop-down list
above the left pane to select the company for which you want to enter dimension budgets.
-
On the Budget List tab, select the budget that contains the dimension that you want to add a budget to.
-
Click the Dimension Budget tab.
-
In the top-right of the grid, click the dimension drop-down icon
and select the dimension for which you want to enter budgets. Only the dimensions that you selected in the Financial Budget Setup pane on the Budget List tab are available for selection.
WorkBook displays the accounts available for the selected dimensions in the grid, as defined in the Financial Budget setup pane.
-
Enter the budget for each month using the month columns for each dimension. The changes you make on the Dimension Budget tab are applied to the budget that you selected on the Budget List tab.
You can also enter the total budget for a dimension in the
Total
column. If you choose this option, WorkBook divides the total budget by 12, which is the number of months for the fiscal year.
Once you are done entering budgets for the selected dimensions, you can transfer the dimension budgets to the Account Budget tab.
