Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of the Project Research Map

Use the contents of the project research map to filter projects and view project information on both the Map tab and Results tab.

Tabs

Use the following tabs to access different features on the Map tab and the Results tab:

Tab Description
Map Display the Project Research Map on the Map tab.
Results Display the All Search Results list on the Results tab.

Project Filters

Use the following search criteria to filter the Project Research Map on the Map tab and the project list on the Results tab:

Field Description
Select Saved Search Select a saved search criteria to apply to the Project Research Map or project list.
Days Since Project Updated Enter the number of days in which the projects were last updated.

The default value for this field is 365.

My Specpoint Projects Only Select this option to show only projects from your A/E firm.
Country Select or enter the countries where the projects are located.

Alternatively, to select a country, click a country on the Project Research Map. To select countries and clear all other filters, press CTRL and click the countries on the Project Research Map.

State Select or enter the states where the projects are located.

Alternatively, to select a state, click a state on the Project Research Map. To select states and clear all other filters, press CTRL and click the states on the Project Research Map.

Building Type Select or enter the building's type or purpose.

Sustainability Select or enter the green building rating systems or environmental codes to which the projects adhere.

Construction Budget Select or enter the budget range for the projects.

See Construction Budget.

Assembly Select or enter project assemblies that the projects include.
Family Select or enter MasterSpec® families (referred to as sections in e-SPECS) that the projects include.

A family refers to a family element that A/E firms include in their project specifications.

Manufacturer Specified Select Yes to show only projects that have specified products and manufacturers in their family content. Otherwise, select No.
Manufacturer Select a manufacturer to show only projects that include the selected manufacturer.

The filter fields are dynamic. When you select a value for a field, other fields will show only the available options with respect to your current selection. For example, if you set Country to United States, you can only select the 50 states within the United States in the State field.

The following table shows the options that you can use with your filters:

Option Description
Save Search Click this button to save the search criteria that you defined in the filter fields for later use.
Delete Search Click this button to delete the selected saved project filter.
Clear Click this button to clear all values that you entered in all the filter fields and revert the Project Research Map to its default state.
Apply All Click this button to apply the search criteria that you entered to the Project Research Map and project list.
