Importing Project Content
Use this part of the documentation as a reference on the tasks that you must perform to import content into your A/E firm's project.
The following tasks are part of the typical content import workflow:
- Add files for import.
- Preview contents of an uploaded family or product type.
- View caution items and errors that need attention for an uploaded family.
- Discard uploaded project content that contains errors.
- Set associations for an uploaded family.
- Import all uploaded families and product types into the project.
Permissions
To import project content, you must be the project's creator or a member of the project team. In addition, the following permissions apply:

As an administrator or author, open the Import page for a project to begin importing content into the project and managing its imported files. - Add Files for Import

As an administrator or author, preview the contents of an uploaded family or product type. This enables you to view and verify the content that Specpoint converted before you import the element into your project. - View Caution Items in an Uploaded Family
As an administrator or author, view the caution items in an uploaded family to view a list of articles with minor issues that you should revise. - View Errors in an Uploaded Family
As an administrator or author, view the errors that need attention in an uploaded family to view a list of articles with major issues that you must revise. - Discard an Uploaded or Imported File
As an administrator or author, discard an uploaded file from a project to select another file for the family or to revise and re-upload the initial file. Discard an imported file to remove the family and its product types from your project. - Set Associations for Import
As an administrator or author, set an association with a lowest-level assembly to select a target position in your project for the imported family or product type. - Import Uploaded Families and Product Types
As an administrator or author, import all your uploaded and prepared families and product types to add these elements to your project and begin working on these elements in the project workspace. - Process an Uploaded Family through the Import Guide
Process an uploaded family based on the steps indicated on the Import Guide tab to ensure that your uploaded content has maximized compatibility with Specpoint's formatting and content structure.
