By default, the ruleset in this Message Definition checks the previous 10 pay periods. You may need to change this value by modifying the ruleset. You will also have to update the Dictionary Label for this message to specify the number of days, weeks, or periods (see below).

Change N Periods to match the value specified in your ruleset’s operand. If your ruleset is looking for unapproved timecards in the last 30 days, change N Periods to 30 Days.

Creates a message for a person or supervisor when an error occurs for the OFFLINE_DATA_PROCESSOR service. Refer to the example below.

Ruleset Name: ErrorLoggedByOfflineDataProcessorExceptionRuleset

The ruleset that is included with the ERROR_LOGGED_BY_OFFLN_DATA_PROC_EXCPTN Message Definition does not contain a rule. You will need to create a rule and add it to this ruleset.

The rule will notify the person whose offline transaction caused the error, this person's supervisor, and/or a system administrator when an error is recorded by the OFFLINE_DATA_PROCESSOR service. To create this rule, use the Calc Rule form, then add it to the ErrorLoggedByOfflineDataProcessorExceptionRuleset ruleset using the Rulesets form. Use the Context Name MessagingRuleset. The rule should include the operands for creating the OFFLINE_DATA_PROCESSOR messages – Create Person Message Offline Processor Exception and Create Supervisor Message Offline Processor Exception.

You will also need to make sure the EXCEPTION_MESSAGE_CREATION service is configured to process the ERROR_LOGGED_BY_OFFLN_DATA_PROC_EXCPTN Message Definition.

Example

The InTeract terminal is offline. Person 101 starts a labor at the terminal but enters the wrong order number. Person 102 enters an invalid badge number.

When the OFFLINE_DATA_PROCESSOR service runs, it generates errors for these transactions.

When the EXCEPTION_MESSAGE_CREATION service runs, it processes the rules shown below in the ERROR_LOGGED_BY_OFFLN_DATA_PROC_EXCPTN Message Definition.

For the invalid badge error, the following rule looks for any instance of Error Code 6001 (Invalid Badge) that was generated by the OFFLINE_DATA_PROCESSOR service in the last 24 hours. The rule then creates a message for members of the SysAdminMsgGroup that an invalid badge number was entered.

For the incorrect order number error, the following rule looks for any error that was generated by the OFFLINE_DATA_PROCESSOR service in the last 24 hours. The rule then creates a message for Person 101 and his supervisor that an offline service exception error occurred for Person 101. In this case, the message will state that Person 101 had a failed validation.

Sends a message to a Message Group when an error occurs for a particular service instance. You can generate messages when a specific error code occurs for the service instance, or when any error code occurs for the service instance.
