Use this application to retrieve data from Costpoint and import it into Primavera Project Planner (P3) version 3.1. You can transfer labor hours, direct cost, and burden (excluding fee) for the current period and inception-to-date into P3 using P3's RA engine.
To transfer data, the interface uses two processing functions, Gather/Prepare and Map/Move. In the Gather/Prepare process, the application gathers Costpoint data and stores it in an interface table in accordance with the range and selection criteria you have chosen. You can view the collected data in the View Gathered tab. In the Move tab, you move the staged data from the Costpoint staging area into P3 in accordance with the mappings that you have established. The mappings indicate how a Costpoint project ID links to a P3 project and activity ID and how Costpoint Labor and Non-labor link to P3 Resources.
This document defines, screen-by-screen, the instructions for the setup, processing, and transfer of information from Costpoint to P3. Transferring data from Costpoint to P3 involves four steps:
Use the Set Up Projects tab to map the relation between each Costpoint project ID and P3 Project Group- Projects-Activity ID combination (the P3 Project Group is optional).
In the Set Up Resources tab, map the relation between Costpoint Labor and Non-labor to P3 Resources for previously mapped project IDs.
In the Gather/Prepare tab, gather Costpoint data into a staging area in Costpoint.
Use the Move tab to move data from the Costpoint staging area to P3.
Before using the interface, complete the following within P3:
The projects must be set up in both Costpoint and P3.
Activities must be created in P3.
Burden resources must be created and assigned to P3 activities.
Resources are created and assigned to activities in P3.
