You must follow this sequence to successfully implement the Costpoint to MS Project Interface.
Use this screen to gather cost related data for specified projects and for a specific accounting period. Gathered data is stored in a temporary table in Costpoint before being moved to MS Project.
Use this screen to view data gathered on the Gather/Prepare screen and staged in a temporary table of Costpoint.
Use this screen to open the template project file of MS Project.
Use this screen to set up and update Costpoint projects in MS Project.
(This template is for starting a new project schedule. For an existing MS Project schedule, refer to "Special Topic: Implementing the Costpoint Interface Macro in an Existing MS Project Schedule").
Use the Database Wizard to define the link between Costpoint and MS Project and to import the gathered data into MS Project. It consists of these seven steps, or screens.
Use the first screen to familiarize yourself with the steps necessary to run the Database Wizard.
Use this screen to connect to Costpoint.
Use this screen to select the Costpoint project that you want to associate with your MS Project file.
Use this screen to select the categories that you want to use for the mapping.
Use this screen to view details of the labor category selected on the Database Wizard - Category Selection screen.
Use this screen to view details of the non-labor category selected on the Database Wizard - Category Selection screen.
Use this screen to store the Costpoint data you selected for your project.
Use this screen to view Costpoint data in MS Project.
Use this screen to import selected data to MS Project from Costpoint.
Use this subtask to add tasks to MS Project. To access this subtask, select the Update pushbutton on the Import screen. This subtask is available only if MS Project does not recognize the task that you are trying to insert.
