Splitting an Activity Duration

Use this procedure to split an activity duration.

To allow an activity duration to be split during resource scheduling:

1. Take one of the following actions to display the Activity Details dialog box:
   • Double-click the appropriate activity.
   • Right-click the appropriate activity, and click Edit Activity on the shortcut menu.
   • Select the appropriate activity, and click Details in the Dialogs menu group of the Edit tab.
2. On the Advanced tab, use the Min Duration field to enter the minimum number of time units for any piece of the activity duration.
3. In the Max Splits field, enter the maximum number of pieces into which the activity duration may be split during resource scheduling.
4. Click Apply.

Note: Open Plan splits an activity duration only if doing so allows an activity to be scheduled that would otherwise be delayed due to insufficient resource availabilities.
