Perform Risk Analysis

Use this procedure to perform risk analysis.

To perform risk analysis:

1. Open the project.
2. On the Processes tab, click Perform Risk Analysis.
3. Enter the information for the session.
   If this is the first time you are analyzing the project, you must enter a Time Now.
4. In the Number of Simulations field of the Risk Analysis Options tab, enter the number of times you want Open Plan to simulate the project.
   The more trials Open Plan performs, the more accurate the results of the analysis are likely to be. Depending on the number of activities in a project and the kind of information you are seeking, between 100 and 1000 iterations are usually appropriate. However, the first time you process a project you may want to specify as few as 10 or 20 iterations in order to verify the validity of the project data.
5. If you want to change the date that Open Plan uses for Time Now, enter the new Time Now date.
   You can also specify the Time Now date from the Schedule group on the Processes tab.
6. Click OK.
