Perform Resource Allocation

Use the Resource Allocation dialog box to perform resource allocation.

To perform resource allocation:

1. In Open Plan Explorer, display a project in any view except Histogram View and Risk View, and perform resource scheduling.
2. Keep the project open.
3. Take one of the following actions:
   • Select the activity for which you want to lock resources, and click Allocate in the Resources menu group of the Edit tab.
   • Right-click the activity, and click Allocation on the shortcut menu.
4. In the Suggested column of the Resource Allocation dialog box, review the resources suggested by Open Plan for the activity.
5. Select each item for which you want to accept the suggested resource, and click Accept.
6. Select each item for which you want to lock the requested resource, and click Lock.
   Each time you select Accept or Lock, Open Plan displays the results of the action.
7. If you want to leave the dialog box without actually performing the resource allocation, click Cancel.
8. When the information is correct, click Close.
