Display Actual Resource Usage on a Resource Histogram

Use this procedure to display actual resource usage for resources.

To display actual resource usage for resources for a project:

  1. In Open Plan Explorer, select a project for which you want to display resource usage.
  2. Perform time analysis on the project.
  3. Perform resource scheduling on the project.
  4. In the Project Views folder of your project, double-click the resource histogram view.
  5. If the resource histogram view is blank, click Select Resource in the General menu group of the View tab.
    You may also right-click within the view, and click Select Resource on the shortcut menu.
  6. In the Resource Selection dialog box, select the resources for which you want to see resource usage, and click OK.
  7. In the General menu group of the View tab, click Preferences.
    If a barchart with a histogram is displayed, the option is Histogram Preferences.
  8. On the Options tab of the Histogram Preferences dialog box, select Resources, and specify the display options.
  9. Click the Resources tab.
  10. In the Show group box of the Resources tab, select Actuals, and specify the preferred appropriate options in the remaining areas of the tab.
  11. Click OK.
