Use this procedure to define the layout of the activity bar.
To define the layout of text to be displayed in and around an activity bar:
-
In the
Project Views folder of Open Plan Explorer, select a project to display in barchart view.
-
In the
Barchart menu group of the View tab, click
Bar Sets.
-
In the Bar Sets dialog box, select a bar set that contains the bar for which you want to define the text layout, and click
Edit.
-
On the Bar Attributes tab of the Barset Preferences dialog box, select the appropriate bar, and click
Text Layout.
-
From the
Bar Type list in the Text Layout dialog box, select a bar type for which to define text layout.
-
From the
Field column, select a field to display.
-
From the Position column, select a position in which to display the selected field.
The
Bar Type
column displays your selected bar type. You can, however, change it by selecting a new bar type from the list while the cursor is in this column.
-
From the
Font column, click the ellipsis button to the right of the text box to select a font and its attributes.
-
Using Shift+click or Ctrl+click, select other bar types to check that the text layout you are defining does not interfere with the readability of text around other activity bars.
-
Continue defining text for other positions in and around the activity bar.
-
If you want the text around the activity bars to hide other objects in the same area of the barchart, select
Opaque Text.
-
When you have finished defining the text layout, click
OK.
