Add Custom Symbols

Use this procedure to add a custom symbol.

To add a custom symbol:

  1. From the File menu, click Preferences > Application.
  2. On the General tab of the Options dialog box, click Symbols.
  3. In the Symbols dialog box, click Add.
  4. In the Add Symbol dialog box, click Select File.
  5. From the Open dialog box, locate the .wmf or .emf graphic file for the symbol, and click Open.
  6. Enter a description for the new symbol.
  7. Enter a shape category for the new symbol. Leaving this field blank will place the symbol in the <Uncategorized Shapes> category.
    You can create a new shape category by entering a unique name in the Shape Category field. Otherwise, entering an existing category name places the new symbol in that category.
  8. Click OK.
