Backing Up and Restoring Open Plan Data
The Backup and Restore features of Open Plan enable you to back up data in a file with the extension of .bk3 that you can then use to restore the data.
The data that you can back up and restore include:
- Projects
- Resources
- Calendars
- Code files
- Views
- Calculated fields
- Filters
- Sorts
- Global edits
- Email Advisory Definitions
When you create a backup file, you can include as many of these items that you want. For example, if you back up a project, you can include all its ancillary data, views, and user data in the BK3 file.
When you restore data, Open Plan prompts you to locate the BK3 file and then offers to include both views and ancillary files. If you have not made any changes to these objects, you can save time by not restoring them.
