Map a Network Folder to a Project

As a PIM administrator, you can map network folders to related projects to provide project members with access to the documents from within PIM. Single projects can be mapped to multiple folders.

You must first ensure that you add the network folder that you want to map a project to as an unmanaged source through the UFM Service Manager tool. For information, see Add a Network Folder as an Unmanaged Source.

To map a network folder to a project:

  1. On the header bar, click Admin.
  2. In the Search Admin Zones field at the top, enter Unmanaged Sources.
  3. Click the Unmanaged Sources link that displays.
  4. On the Unmanaged Sources screen, click Edit for the source that you want to manage.
    If you have recently added an unmanaged source, and it is not displayed, click to update the list.
    Note: If the traffic light icon to the left of the source that you want to manage is not green, it means there is an issue with the network source. You can click or hover over the icon to view more details.
  5. On the Configure Unmanaged Source window, do the following to map folders to projects:
    • To map a single folder to the suggested project, click Map next to the folder name.
    • To map multiple folders to the suggested projects, select the check box of each folder that you want to map, and then click Map above the Rating column.
      Note: You can use the Filter Ratings list to filter the list of folders that match a selected rating. For example, you can filter the list to display only suggested project folder mappings that have a rating of 2 or above.
    • To map a folder to a different project, or if a suggestion is not available, click in the Select Project field and enter the name of the project that you want to map the folder to. As you type, a list of matching projects displays, and you can click a project to select it. After you select a project, click Map.

  6. On the Unmanaged Source Folder Mapping dialog box, click Yes to continue.
    Indexing of the documents within the mapped folder commences. When the process finishes, the documents will be available from the Documents tab on the mapped project records.

If you need to pause file syncing for an unmanaged source, click on the Unmanaged Sources window. To resume file syncing, click .
