Enter Hours in a Timesheet

Enter labor hours worked, or overhead hours, before you submit a timesheet. You can enter hours on a daily basis.

To enter hours in a timesheet:

  1. Navigate to the Personal Zone.
  2. On the Timesheets dashpart, click against the timesheet that you want to open.
    Use the From and To fields to change the date range to display timesheets for, if required. If the Timesheets dashpart is not displayed, click to add it.
  3. Click on the header of the first column to create a row for entering hours.
  4. To enter labor hours against a project or enquiry, do the following:
    1. In the Entity Name column, select or enter the name of the project or enquiry.
    2. If workstages or variations exist for the selected project or enquiry, select the relevant workstage or variation in the Workstage/Variation column.
  5. In the Timesheet Category column, select the appropriate time category.
  6. Click in the cell for the day that you want add hours to, and enter the following information:
    To enter Do this
    Basic hours

    Enter the number of labor hours that you worked on a project or enquiry, or the number of overhead hours, such as holiday or sickness.

    If you are in Advanced Entry mode, enter the number of hours in the Basic Hours field in the Additional Time Items dialog box which displays.

    Overtime hours

    If you are required to enter overtime hours, enter the overtime hours in the Overtime field in the Additional Time Items dialog box.

    The Additional Time Items dialog box only displays when you are in Advanced Entry mode. Click Advanced Entry on the toolbar to enable it.

    Notes Enter a comment in the Notes field in the Additional Time Items dialog box.

    Note: The minimum amount of time that you can enter for a day is 15 minutes, which you enter as 0.25.
  7. Repeat step 6 for each day that you want to enter hours for.
  8. Click Save Timesheet to save the timesheet without submitting it.
    If there are any issues with the data that you have entered, a icon displays in the Total Daily Basic row at the bottom of the timesheet. You can hover over this icon to view information about the issue. You must correct all issues before you can submit the timesheet for approval.
  9. If you are ready to submit the timesheet for approval, click Submit Timesheet.
    Once you submit a timesheet for approval, you cannot make any further edits to it.
