Entering text and dates

To enter Do this

Text in fields

To enter information, such as a project name, you can often just begin typing it, and Ajera automatically enters the closest match for you.

You can also click , and select an the item from a list.

Text in columns

You can easily enter the same information in several rows of a column. For example, you want to enter the same project on several rows of a timesheet.

  1. Right-click the column heading, and click Prefill.
  2. When you click in the empty cell for that column, Ajera enters the information from the previous row.

To turn off this option, right-click the column heading, and click Prefill again.

Dates

Simply type the date in mm/dd/yy format, with or without slashes (/). For example, type 072110 for July 21, 2010.

You can also enter a date by clicking to use a calendar.


Navigating

As in most Windows applications, you use the menu and buttons to move through the various windows in Ajera.

Menu

Click to open the menu. You navigate through Ajera by clicking an item in the menu. Click to expand a list to see more options.

If you have favorites set up, you may need to click Show All to see all of the Ajera menu options.

These buttons appear on many Ajera windows:

Customize

Select optional columns to appear on the window you are currently viewing.

You can also hide optional columns you no longer want to view.

Open help instructions for the report or inquiry you are currently viewing.

Reports

Display a list of reports for viewing or printing.

Change View

Change which items currently appear on a window.

Close

Close the window you are currently viewing.

When no Save button appears, the Close button automatically saves your work.

Edit

Change information.

Save

Save the current information.

Cancel

Close the window or end a task without saving changes.

Delete

Delete an item.

Help

Open help instructions, field descriptions, and other resources for the window you are currently viewing.

New

Create new information for the window you are currently viewing.

Copy

Copy information rather than re-entering much of it. For example, you might copy an invoice format setup.

OK

Accept an action or close a message.

These buttons appear at the bottom of many windows. By clicking them, you can change the information for the window you are currently viewing.

The first item, according to the order on the list window.

The item before the one you are viewing.

The item after the one you are viewing.

The last item, according to the order on the list window.

Select information. Depending on the field, you can:

  • Display a list and make a selection.
  • Display a calculator to enter an amount.
  • Display a calendar and select a date.
