Project Postings
The Project Postings submodule accounts for the majority of all journal entries (project postings) to the general ledger. These entries include vouchers, time entries, materials, WIP adjustments, sales invoices, job closures, and cross-company creditor invoices.
The Project Posting submodule enables you to book your transactions into the general ledger. Job transactions that are Ready for Booking, Status 50, will automatically go to Project Posting for booking.
Within Project Posting, you have the option to view transactions up to a specific date, filter for a particular job, and show or hide values.
To use the Project Postings submodule, you must have access to Finance & Administration as defined in the User Access Rights submodule under Settings.
The Project Posting Grids
The Project Posting submodule consists of two grids. The top grid allows you to book transactions to the general ledger. It also displays the different journal types together with the total cost price, total sales price, total WIP value, first and last dates, and number of non-approved records and open entries for each transaction type.
By default, the bottom grid displays all entries for each transaction type that are ready for booking. For example, if you selected Time Entries in the top grid, the bottom grid displays the hours spent by each employee for each job and client, the type of activity, and the posting date, entry date, cost price, sales price, cost price total, sales price total, and WIP value.
The bottom grid also enables you to perform the following tasks:
- Change the booking date
- Use the entry dates as booking dates
- View posting suggestions.
- View posting suggestion summaries.
- View open entries that are not ready for booking.
