Enter a BOD Product for a Product Type

As an administrator or author, enter a product listing in a BOD product paragraph to use as a basis of design for the product type.

When use a BOD product in a BOD product paragraph, multiple rules apply and Specpoint automatically makes adjustments to related contents. For more information, see Modification of Element Contents.

To select a registered product listing as a basis of design, add the product listing to the product type.

To enter a BOD product for a product type:

1. In the Project Elements pane of the project workspace, select an added product type.
   An added product type displays in green.
2. On the element form, click the Products tab.
3. Click an article, in which the BOD product paragraph belongs, to expand the article and show its paragraphs.
   The BOD product paragraph is typically within an article that has a title of "Manufacturers" or a product type name.
4. Locate the BOD product paragraph and click (show icon) to activate it.
   The BOD product paragraph has a property title of "Basis-of-Design Product".
5. In the BOD product paragraph, select whether to use the product in the drawings or a registered product listing as a basis of design.
   • To use the product in the drawings, select the (product indicated on Drawings).
   • To use a registered product listing, in the [Insert manufacturer's name; product name or designation] option, enter the name of the manufacturer and product listing in the indicated format.
6. To save your changes, click a different area on the element form.
