Create a New Office Master Version Based on a MasterSpec Family

Clone a MasterSpec family to create a new office master version of the family with same content, structure, and links as the MasterSpec version. This enables you to use MasterSpec content as a starting point for your custom firm-level content.

To create a new office master version based on a MasterSpec family:

  1. Open the element library.
  2. In the element library, select an assembly or division to view its families.
  3. From the assembly's/division's families, select a family.
  4. In the Family Details pane, click Create Work Item.
  5. In the Select Version field in the Create Work Item dialog box, select the base MasterSpec version.
    The base MasterSpec version typically is the first entry in the dropdown and follows the format: Section <Section Number> - MasterSpec.
  6. Click Confirm.
    In the element library, the MasterSpec version displays with a which indicates an existing work item. On the office master dashboard, the work item for MasterSpec version is available under its family.
