Prompt Setting

The Prompt Setting form is used to configure settings for the individual prompts in an event.

Using the Prompt Setting Form

To find Prompt Setting records for a specific event, click the Filter icon at the top of the form to display the Event filter field. Select an event name from the drop-down list and click Find.

To create a new Prompt Setting record, click Add. Select the Event and Prompt Name. Select the Setting Type and change the Setting Value to True or False.

To modify or delete a Prompt Setting record, select the record on the form and click the Modify or Delete button. You can only modify the Setting Value of a record.

Prompt Setting Descriptions

The Intouch Show Keyboard prompt setting determines whether the event prompt will automatically display an alphanumeric keyboard on an InTouch terminal. This setting is designed for event prompts that have text-entry fields.

The Intouch Show Keyboard prompt setting will override the Show Keyboard setting in a terminal's InTouch Config record. For example, you may only want to display the keyboard automatically for the Order, Operation, and Activity number prompts of the Work Order event. To do so, you need to configure these prompts in the Prompt Setting form.

In the illustration below, the terminal's Show Keyboard setting is false (the default value) and there are no Intouch Show Keyboard prompt settings for this event. For the Order Num prompt, the user has to click Edit to display a keyboard and enter the order number.

In the illustration below, the terminal's Show Keyboard setting is false but there is a Prompt Setting record for the Order Num prompt for this event. For the Order Num prompt, a keyboard appears automatically.

The Show Start Prompt On Stop setting determines whether a start prompt will appear when stopping a labor. The Show Start Prompt On Stop prompt setting is often used for a work queue event, to hide the prompt that displays the work queue grid when the labor stops, and show the prompts that were hidden during labor start when the work queue grid was visible.

This setting works with the Event Setting called DONT_SHOW_START_PROMPT. When DONT_SHOW_START_PROMPT is False (the default setting), the event's start prompts will display as read-only when the labor stops. The Show Start Prompt On Stop prompt setting is used to hide individual event prompts when the labor stops.

If Show Start Prompt On Stop is False, the prompt will be hidden on stop.
If Show Start Prompt On Stop is True and DONT_SHOW_START_PROMPT is False, the prompt will show as read-only on stop.
If a prompt has no Show Start Prompt On Stop setting, the prompt will display on stop based only on the value of the DONT_SHOW_START_PROMPT Event Setting.
