Import Users from Active Directory

Use this procedure to import users from Windows Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI).

To import users from active directory:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select SECURITY > Users.
By default, Users Detail View displays.
  2. At the upper right part of the form, click to switch to Users List View.
  3. On the Users List View, click Other Options and select Import from Active Directory from the context menu.
  4. In the From Active Directory dialog box, select the file that you want to import.
  5. In the Domain field, enter the name of the server where you want to import user records. You can also select it from the drop-down list. PPM Administrator retrieves groups that are set up on the ADSI server and then populates the Groups grid.
  6. In the Groups grid, select a group from which you want to import users. When you select a group, PPM Administrator displays the list of users on the server in the Users grid.
  7. In the Available Users grid, select the users that you want to import. Select as many users as needed. You can select multiple users by pressing either the CTRL key or the SHIFT key and then clicking the selected users.
  8. Click Import.

Once the Import process is completed, the Import Log dialog box displays, showing the imported records and error messages for any records that failed during the import. Subsequently, the PPM Administrator notifies the users regarding the information, warnings, or error messages generated during the import.
