Configuring security groups correctly ensures that only authorized users within your organization are able to access restricted part data. Part of the configuration process is adding users to a security group. The Parts screen allows you to view and manage the parts that are protected under the security groups.
The following is an overall checklist of the steps that you must perform during the setup process:

To link parts to the security groups that you had just created, complete the following steps:
On the Manage Security Groups screen, click Parts.
In the Part field, enter or click to select an item from the Query table and click OK.
The Part Data Security Status field is automatically set to Active and the Activation Date automatically picks up the current date. The remaining fields on the table automatically display associated information from the Manage United States Munitions List screen.
