Configuring security groups correctly ensures that only authorized users within your organization are able to access restricted part data. The following is an overall checklist of the steps that you must perform during the setup process:

To set up security groups, complete the following steps:
On the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, select the Use Part Data Security Controls check box to enable security restrictions for restricted parts in your organization’s inventory.
On the Manage Security Groups screen, click to add a new record on the security group line.
Enter the values for the following fields:

Enter a unique identification code for the security group. |

Enter a description that will be associated with the security group. |
Issuing Agency |
Enter the issuing agency for which the security group is created. |
Status |
Select from the drop-down whether this security group is Active or Inactive. |
