WORK CENTERS

Use this screen to enter work center IDs and descriptions used in the Maintain MBOM screen to record when material must be pulled or kitted for a manufacturing order. You can add new lines or change/delete existing lines to maintain work centers. If you have been licensed for Costpoint Routings, you can maintain additional information in the Maintain Work Centers screen in that module.

Note: Some fields will not be available unless you have installed Costpoint Routings .

Set up this screen before creating MBOMs to facilitate manufacturing order processing and maintain as needed.

Work Center ID

Enter up to 12 alphanumeric characters in this required field for the new work center ID.

Name

Enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters in this required field to describe the new work center.

Active

Select this checkbox to indicate the work center is active.

Organization

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the ID of the organization with which the work center is associated. The organization name displays to the right of the Org Abbrev field.

Org Abbrev

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the organization abbreviation with which the work center is associated. A default displays in this field if you entered an ID in the Organization field.

Crew Size

Enter the number of employees typically used at the work center.

Number of Machines

Enter the number of machines used at the work center.

Supervisor

Enter the ID of the supervisor assigned to the work center.

Note: The following three fields will not be available unless you have installed Costpoint Routings.

Process Type

Use this drop-down box to select the type of process that is performed at the work center.  If available, items listed in this drop-down box are maintained in the Process Types screen in Costpoint Routings.

Work Center Type

Use this drop-down box to select the work center type.  If available, items listed in this drop-down box are maintained in the Work Center Types screen in Costpoint Routings.

Key Resource

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the key resource consumed by the work center.  If available, items listed in this drop-down box are maintained in the Resource Types screen in Costpoint Routings.

Table Window

Effective Date

Enter the date the following rate and capacity data will become effective.

Setup Labor Hourly Rate

Enter the default hourly labor rate associated with setups in the work center.

Run Labor Hourly Rate

Enter the default hourly labor rate associated with manufacturing in the work center.

Labor Burden Rate

Enter the target burden rate to be applied to labor dollars in the work center.

Weekly Net Hours

Enter the typical hours per week that are available for production, net of efficiency, and utilization. This field may already be populated by the product of the Weekly Gross Hours, Efficiency, and Utilization fields.

Efficiency

Enter the percentage that reflects how well standard hours are met when the work center is operating.

Utilization

Enter the percentage that reflects how often the work center is operating during shifts.

Weekly Gross Hours

Enter the typical hours per week that the work center is available for production.

Weekly Shifts

This field displays the total number of daily shifts.

Sunday Shifts, Monday Shifts, Tuesday Shifts, Wednesday Shifts, Thursday Shifts, Friday Shifts, Saturday Shifts

Enter the number of shifts the work center is typically used on a given day.

Detail

Select this pushbutton to enter specialized information about the work center.

Equipment

Select this pushbutton to specify the equipment used in the work center.

Labor

Select this pushbutton to specify the labor classifications used in the work center.

Maintenance

Select this pushbutton to specify the maintenance performed on the work center.

Alt WCs

Select this pushbutton to specify other work centers that can be used in place of the selected work center.

The WORKCENTER table stores the settings from this screen.
