W-2 Magnetic Media File with TXT Extension for Federal Information When you create a W-2 magnetic media file on the Federal Info dialog box (Payroll System > Reports > Tax Reporting > Work on W-2s > Create Magnetic Media File), the file now has a TXT extension. W-2 Retirement Checkbox for Employee Maintenance On the Payroll tab of the Employee Name window (Payroll System > Maintenance Programs > Employee Maintenance), you now use the Box 13 Retirement Eligible/Participant checkbox to indicate that your employee is an active participant of your company's retirement plan.
