Allowable File Types

Learn more about which file types you can upload to a project space.

To support your security needs, Deltek provides a default set of allowable file extensions at the account level. This determines which file types users can upload to a particular space for a given account. If a file extension is not listed in an account's allowable file types, users cannot upload files of that type.

To support your organization's processes, account administrators can add and remove file extensions from an account's allowable file types through the account settings.

The following file extensions are permitted by default:

Since 1:1 chat sessions in the Classic View are not related to a specific account, the default allowable file type list applies to these conversations, regardless of any account allowable file type list. In addition, links to cloud documents do not adhere to an account's allowable file type list, since file extension policies are managed at the cloud account level.

Blocklisted File Extensions

To further protect your organization's security, Deltek maintains a list of blocklisted file extensions. These are file extensions that are deemed not secure and potentially dangerous. The list of blocklisted file types is extensive, and updated frequently as malicious file extensions evolve. Users are prevented from uploading blocklisted file types and these file extensions cannot be added to an account's allowable file type list.
