Setting up departments

unavailable in ajeraCore unless you have the Departments add-on

To set up departments

  1. From the > Setup menu, click Company > Financials > Departments.
  1. A department titled Department already exists. You can change the name to one that is more applicable for your company by clicking Edit, changing the name of the description, and clicking Save.
  1. Place the cursor one row above where you want the new department.
  2. Click the New button.
  1. For the description, type the name of the department.
  2. Enter a direct personnel expense (DPE) percent for the department if you want your labor cost to reflect DPE. You can print DPE on reports to see a more accurate view of a project's profit. If the department has the same percent as your company, leave this field blank and Ajera uses the percent from your company preferences.  

Enter the number as a percent; for example, enter 35 for 35%.

  1. Enter an overhead percent for the department if you want your labor cost to reflect overhead. You can print overhead on reports to see a more accurate view of a project's profit. If the department has the same percent as your company, leave this field blank and Ajera uses the percent from your company preferences.

Enter the number as a percent; for example, enter 150 for 150%.

  1. Click the Attachments tab and add attachments, by linking to related files. A linked file must be in a shared location for other people to open it (for example, on a shared network or a website).

     
  2. Enter any notes about the department.
  3. Click Save. The department appears in a row below the cursor. To move it, click the row and click or .
