Insert Project Template Dialog Box

The Insert Project Templates dialog box lists the project templates to insert into the currently open project.

The Project Templates to Include in New Project table displays the following information for each template:

  • Project Template: This column of the table displays the names of the project templates that you plan to use to create this project.
  • Mode: This column of the table displays the mode in which the project template is being used in the project. There are three modes:
    • Normal: The activities in the project template are inserted as activities directly into the project.
    • Subproject: The project template is added to the project as an internal subproject.
    • External Subproject: The project template is added to the project as an external subproject.
  • Subproject Name: This column of the table displays the name given to the project template when it is added to the project as either an internal or external subproject. If this column is blank, the project template name is used for the subproject name.
  • Project Name: This column of the table displays the name given to the project that is created when a project template is added to the master project as an external subproject.
  • Prefix: This column of the table displays the prefix to add to the project template activity IDs. With the possibility that the activity IDs in the template are the same as those in the project when you are adding the template in Normal mode, adding a prefix to the template activity IDs helps to ensure that they have unique IDs. Please note that you can add only a prefix or a suffix to the project template activity IDs. You cannot add both.
  • Suffix: This column of the table displays the suffix to add to the project template activity IDs. With the possibility that the activity IDs in the template are the same as those in the project when you are adding the template in Normal mode, adding a suffix to the template activity IDs helps to ensure that they have unique IDs. Please note that you can add only a prefix or a suffix to the project template activity IDs. You cannot add both.
