Define the Standard Work Week

When you define the standard workweek for a parent calendar, all of its child calendars inherit the same settings.

To set the default working days and hours:

  1. In Open Plan Explorer, display a calendar.
  2. Take one of the following actions:
    • On the Edit tab, click Work Week.
    • Right-click the calendar, and click Define Work Week on the shortcut menu.
  3. From the list in the Define Work Week dialog box, select the calendar for which you want to define the workweek.
  4. Select one or more days of the week, and click Working or Non-Working, as appropriate.
  5. For each working day, enter up to 10 work periods in the Start Time and Stop Time fields using the standard time formats.
Both start and stop times must be filled in for the row to be valid.

When entering start and stop times, the following conditions apply:

    • You must enter a start and stop time for each period. The start time of a period cannot be earlier than the stop time of the previous period.
    • You can define working times for more than one day at a time. Select multiple days by dragging in the list or by pressing the Shift key in combination with the Up or Down arrow key. Then enter the working times.
    • If you enter work times using a 24-hour format (where, for example, 22:00 represents 10:00 P.M.), you cannot define a work period that spans midnight by entering a time such as 26:00.
  6. Click OK.
