Define Work Week Dialog Box
When you display the Define Work Week dialog box, days that have been defined as working days on the calendar are identified with an asterisk.
For each selected working day, Open Plan displays the default working hours in the Start Time and Stop Time columns.
Open Plan does not display information in the Start Time and Stop Time columns when more than one day is selected.
You can change the working status of one or more days by selecting them and then clicking either the Working or Non-Working option.
You can change the working hours of any working day by editing the hours displayed in the Start Time and Stop Time boxes. You can also add a work period by selecting an empty cell at the bottom of the list and entering both a start time and a stop time for the work period. While Open Plan recognizes a number of commonly used time formats, time is always displayed in military format.
For example, you can enter time using any of the following time formats:
| Date Illustration | Notes |
|---|---|
| 18:30 | Military time uses a 24-hour clock. The number before the colon represents hours. The number after the colon represents minutes. |
| 6:30 pm | The number after the colon represents minutes. |
| 6:30 PM | You can also use uppercase letters for AM and PM. The number after the colon represents minutes. |
You can have up to 10 work periods per day.
Open Plan displays any work day with changed work hours as an extra work day.
Child calendars inherit from their parents. This means that when you define the work week for a parent calendar, the settings you enter apply also to all the child calendars.
When entering start and stop times, the following conditions apply:
- You must enter a start and stop time for each period. The start time of a period cannot be earlier than the stop time of the previous period.
- You can define working times for more than one day at a time. Select multiple days by dragging in the list or by pressing the Shift key in combination with the Up or Down arrow key. Then enter the working times.
- If you enter work times using a 24-hour format (where, for example, 22:00 represents 10:00 P.M.), you cannot define a work period that spans midnight by entering a time such as 26:00.
