Create Child Activities (Network)

Use this procedure to create child activities in a network view by right-clicking the activity in a network view.

To create child activities in a network view:

1. In the Project Views folder of Open Plan Explorer, select a project to display in network view.
2. Right-click the activity to which you want to add child activities.
3. On the shortcut menu, click Add Child.
   Open Plan automatically converts the activity to a subproject before allowing you to add a child. This means that Open Plan will ignore the duration for the newly created parent activity for subsequent time analysis calculations.
4. In the Activity Details dialog box, enter the information for the child activity.
   Open Plan allows you to enter only the local portion of the activity ID.
5. When the information is complete, click Apply.
