Create a New User Defined Field

Use this procedure to create a new user defined field.

To create a new user defined field:

  1. On the Tools tab, click User Fields.
  2. In the User Defined Fields dialog box, select the table for which you want to create a user defined field.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the Name field of the New User Defined Field dialog box, enter a name for the new user defined field.
  5. From the Data Type list, select a data type.
  6. In the Description field, enter a description for the new user defined field.
    This step is optional.

    If you are creating a user defined field for the Activity table, you also have the option to create the field for a baseline.

  7. If you want Open Plan to create the new user defined field for the baseline, select the Also Create Field for Baseline option.
  8. Click OK.
