Project Analysis Barchart View

The Project Analysis Barchart view is a hierarchical arrangement of projects with spreadsheet and barchart components.

Attention: For more information about working with barchart and spreadsheet views, see Getting Started with Barcharts and Spreadsheet Views Overview.

Date Scale

Right-click in the date area of the barchart (at the top of the barchart) and select Edit Date Scale to display the Date Scale Preferences dialog box where you can select date scale and color options.

Go To Date

Right-click in the barchart and select Go To Date to display the Go To Date dialog box. You can use the options on the dialog box to quickly move to the project start, project finish, or Time Now date in the barchart for the project that you currently have selected in the spreadsheet portion of the view. You can also specify a specific date to which you want to move.

If you select more than one project in the spreadsheet, Open Plan disabled the options on this dialog box.

Barchart Options

You can include Time Now on the barchart as a solid line for each project. You can also add a line to indicate the System Date. Use the Project Barchart Preferences dialog box to specify the Time Now and System Date display preferences (right-click on the barchart and click Preferences).

Project Bar Sets

A bar set is a group of project bars that you can assign to a barchart view. For example, you might have a particular type of bar to show a project baseline and another bar to show the forecast dates.

Right-click on the barchart and select Bar Sets or click Bar Sets on the View tab to display the Bar Sets dialog box. The drop-down list includes a Project Bar Sets bar set type. You can edit it, copy it, or create a new bar set.

Spreadsheet Options

Right-click on the spreadsheet and select Preferences to display the Spreadsheet Preferences dialog box where you can select grouping and color options. The Outlining and Define Link tabs are not available in this view.

Printing

Use Print and Print Preview in the File menu or from the Quick Access toolbar to view and print your project data. The Print Options dialog box allows you to set the margins and orientation, and include project notes, among other things.
