Deleting a File
With the Delete File command, you can delete any project or project-related data file from the data source.
On the File menu, click to display the Select File to Delete dialog box.
This dialog box displays a list of files based on the type of file that you select in the File Type field. Also, depending on the file type, Open Plan performs one of the following actions when you delete a file:
- If the file is a project, all the project data is deleted from the data source. The links created in the Project folder to any ancillary files are removed, but the ancillary file data itself is not deleted. Any links to the project in your My Folder are also removed.
- If the file is a calendar file, resource file, code file, or view template, the actual data is deleted from the data source.
Note: A file
cannot be deleted if another file refers to it. For example, you cannot delete
a resource file if a project still uses it.
