Weighted Percentages Subtask

Use the Weighted Percentages subtask to assign weights to the availability factors for the affirmative action plan.

These weights are used for the Availability/Utilization Report relating to a specific Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) code or Job Category code.

In the Availability/Utilization analysis, employers must consider two factors designed to determine the percentage of minorities and women available for employment in the EEO code group or job category. Employers are given discretion in weighting each factor according to its significance in furnishing employees for each EEO code/job category code level.

Set up this screen after you have established your affirmative action plan(s), and before printing the Availability/Utilization Report.

Field Description
Affirmative Action Plan Code

This field displays the affirmative action plan code from the main screen, and for which this Weighted Percentage Setup table is used. The non-editable field to the right displays the description of the selected affirmative action plan.

Table Window

After inserting a new line or selecting the Import EEO Codes / Import Job Categories button, populate the EEO Code / Job Category field, Factor 1 Weighted Pct field, and the Factor 2 Weighted Pct field in this table window.

Field Description
EEO Code/Job Category

This column's header displays the EEO Code or Job Category depending on the option that is selected in the Job Grouping Method group box on the main screen. Enter, or click to select, the EEO code/job category code for setting up your weighted percentages. You can also use the Import EEO Code / Import Job Category button to import EEO codes/job category codes into this table.

Description

The description of the selected EEO codes/job category codes display in this field.

Factor 1 Weighted Pct

Enter the user-defined weighted percentage that you want to put on the percent of minorities/women with the requisite skills in the reasonable recruitment area (Factor 1). This field must be greater than zero before you can save the record.

Factor 2 Weighted Pct

Enter the user-defined weighted percentage that you want to put on the percent of minorities/women within your company (Factor 2). This field must be greater than zero before you can save the record.

Total Weighted Pct

This field displays the calculated sum of the Factor 1 and Factor 2 weighted percentages that you have entered for one EEO Code/Job Category Code. The value in this field must total 100% for each EEO code/job category line.

Import EEO Codes/Import Job Categories

This button's title displays as Import EEO Codes or Import Job Categories depending on the option that you selected in the Job Grouping Method group box on the main screen. If you click the Import EEO Codes button, EEO codes populate the table window based on the setting on the EEO Setup subtask of the Configure Affirmative Action Settings screen. If you click the Import Job Codes button, all job codes populate this table window from the Manage Job Categories screen.
