Deploy a Contract Type

To save time, you can automatically deploy a contract management item type from a list of PIM processes. You can deploy a maximum of five item types per group. To progress, you will need additional information, including the contact roles for approval and completion (if required), a sender email address, and the document pool(s) to publish documents and emails to.

To deploy a contract type:

  1. Navigate to the Workflow Zone.
    If the Workflow tab is not visible on the main header bar, click more to access the additional zones.
  2. Click the System Actions tab.
  3. In the Contract Management section, click Configure Contract Management.
  4. On the Manage Contract Management Settings screen, scroll down, and click Deploy Type.
  5. On the Deploy Contact Management Type screen, use the Select the pack you want to deploy from list to select the contract pack that you wish to deploy a contract type from.
    Currently, only the North American Architect pack is available for selection. This pack includes the following contract types: Architect supplemental instruction, change order, potential change order, incoming RFI, outgoing RFI, and submittal.
  6. From the Select the Type you wish to create list, select the type of contract item.
  7. In the Name field, enter a name for the contract type.
  8. From the Type Group list, select the type of communication.
    Only groups that have fewer than five item types assigned to them are available for selection.
  9. Click Create.

The Manage Contract Management Type screen displays. You can now enter the details of the contract type. For information, see Contents of the Management Contract Management Type Screen.

Alternatively, if you wish to complete the details at another time, click Cancel. Note that a contract type cannot be used to create contract items until at least all mandatory fields have been completed.
