Grant Access to Record Functions and Features

Use the Entity Function Security page to grant access to functions for particular record types. You can also grant access to a number of features, including the Smart View mode in the Information Zone, and live browsing in the PIM Mobile Working app.

To grant access to record functions and features:

1. On the header bar, click Admin.
2. In the Search Admin Zones field at the top, enter Entity Function Security.
3. Click the Entity Function Security link that displays.
   The following tabs display:

   Tab	Description
   Entity Function Roles	Use this tab to grant user roles with access to selected functions and features. For example, to allow all internal users to use the Smart View mode in the Information Zone, you assign the Dms.Search function to the F02 - All Internal Users role. To grant access to live browsing in the PIM Mobile Working app, you assign the Mobile.LiveBrowse feature to a role.
   Entity Function Class Roles	Use this tab to grant user roles with access to functions for selected record types. For example, to allow all internal users to add internal contacts, you assign the AddInternal function against the Contact class to the F02 - All Internal Users user role.

4. Click to add a new access right for a user role.
5. In the blank row at the bottom of the list, use the Select Entity Function list to select the function that you want to grant access to.
6. From the Select Role list, select the role that you want to assign to the entity function.
7. Click .

Currently, only a limited number of functions and features are available. To assign additional access rights to users at the user role level, see Manage Access to Record Field Sets.
