Editing Absence Requests: Permissions and Limitations

Your ability to edit an absence request depends on whether the request has been approved and your permissions in the system.

Editing your own absence requests

You can edit absence requests that you created if they have not been approved.

This includes:

  • Requests that are pending approval
  • Requests that have not yet been submitted
  • Rejected requests that you want to update and resubmit

Approved absence requests

Once an absence request has been approved, you cannot edit or cancel it yourself.

To make changes to an approved absence, you must:

  • Contact your line manager or PIM administrator
  • Submit a cancellation request, if your organization supports approval workflows for cancellations.

Managers and administrators

Users with additional permissions, such as line managers or HR administrators, can edit absence requests on behalf of employees.

Depending on their assigned permissions, they can:

  • Edit absence requests before approval
  • Edit or cancel approved absence requests

If you do not have these permissions, you will not be able to make these changes.
