Enable a Resource Contact to Create Client Jobs Using the Contact Card
Depending on your role in WorkBook, you can use the contact card in Resources to enable contacts to create jobs for clients. This is useful when you have clients who are more involved in the day-to-day management of projects and jobs and whose contacts need access to jobs, price quotes, schedules, and other information. Alternatively, you can enable contacts to create jobs for clients using the contact card. You can also define the contacts' access to jobs and job teams. Alternatively, you can enable contacts to create jobs for clients in Client Settings. .
Note: You must have permission to add, delete, and modify resources to complete this task.
To enable a resource contact to create jobs for clients using the contact card:
- On the main toolbar, click Resources .
- On the right side of the grid toolbar, under the filter icon , select Resource Default Grid from the drop-down menu.

Select the resource associated with the contact that you want to give job access to by completing any of the following actions:
- In the Search in Grid field, enter the name of the resource, then select it from the grid.
- Click the Filter field next to the Search in Grid field, select the resource type as your filter, and select the resource from the grid. For example, you can use Clients as the filter and then select the client name from the grid.
- On the grid toolbar, click Resource Information /.
- On the side toolbar of the resource information card, click Contacts .
- Click the initials of the contact or click Toggle Resource Card on the top toolbar of the resource information card to display the contact card.
- On the side toolbar of the contact card, click Contact Access .
- On the Create Job tab, add the clients for which the contact can create jobs.
