Working with Master Projects

Before you begin working with master projects in PM Compass, review the following:

Projects View

In the Project List View, you can click Show Master Projects to filter the list to master projects only. PM Compass remembers your selection and will default to this view until you click Show Projects to include all projects in the list.

When you select a master project from the Projects List View and click Form View, you can use the Subprojects tab to view the list of related subprojects.

When you are in the Master Project view of the Projects List View, You cannot use the Cost, Schedule, and Progress options on the Projects View toolbar. You can only use the menu options on the Navigation menu under Projects. If you select one of these options and the grid is blank, check the Assignment Mapping Grid and the Progress Admin Group on the System Settings Progress Tab because these views are filtered using those settings.

Using the Search Dialog Box to Select a Master Project

The Project list Search dialog box includes a Show Master Projects option that limits the search results to master projects. Select this option when you are looking for a master project. When the option is deselected, the search results display regular projects only.

After you select a master project in the search grid and it displays in the Projects view, PM Compass remembers your selection and will default to this view until you use the Search feature to select different projects, or you can click Show Projects and then click Show Master Projects to clear the filter and display all master projects again.

For steps to search for a master project, see Search for a Master Project.
