PM Compass allows you to schedule a process to run at a certain date and time or on a recurring basis. For example, you could schedule alerts, reports, and the creation of Progress workflows.

You can use the Schedule dialog box to perform the following tasks for Progress and Explanation of Variances:
Specify the required settings for a process. These include the process queue where it belongs, the process description, and the start date and time when the process runs.
Submit a process to a profile that you define on the Profile Editor.
Immediately place a process on hold and enable the email alerts after the process completes.
Specify a recurring process and its frequency of recurrence.
Specify a recurrence end date for the recurring processes.
View the process parameters for troubleshooting purposes.
Process Server — This refers to a Windows service that runs on the server. It allows you to schedule and run processes, which run in the background.
Process — This is a task that you can submit to the Process Server. Processes that are scheduled to run are considered to be in a waiting status until their run date and time.
Process Queue — This is a named waiting list where you can submit processes or profiles. For example, you can create a queue named Report Queue that is dedicated for reports or a queue called First half 2010 where processes that are created within a certain period of time are submitted.
Profile — A profile allows you to schedule several processes that you submit as a single group to a process queue. Processes that belong to a profile run sequentially. You usually set up a profile to run processes that need to run in a particular order.
