Add a Constraint Date to an Activity

When you add a new activity to a work package, the start date is set to the start date of the work package. To delay the start of an activity, Deltek strongly recommends using activity relationships instead of constraint dates.

In order to add a constraint, the Create, Edit, or Delete Activities option on the Workflow Type Configuration Change Details on Form tab must be selected.

To add a constraint date to an activity:

1. On the Navigation menu, click Workflows » Change Management » <select a Change Request>.

2. In the List View, select the Change Request.

3. On the General tab of the Change Request Form, click the Change Details button. The Change Details view and barchart displays.

4. Select the activity to which you want to add a date constraint.

5. On the Advanced tab, click Constraint Type and select a constraint type. See the Advanced tab for information about each option.

6. In the Constraint Date field, select a date for the constraint.

7. Click Save.
