Best Practices for Data Handling in GCCM
Here are some best practices to follow when handling data in GCCM.
- Customers/Consultants should not share any data with Deltek team members outside of the GCCM environment.
- Do not send any data to Deltek team members through email or any other electronic means.
- Customers should not attach any sensitive data to a support ticket.
- During online meetings, customers should not screen share any data or their Costpoint GCCM environment.
- These data best practices also include Federal Metadata which is described as “information describing the characteristics of data such as data format, syntax, and semantics as well as descriptive metadata describing data contents (e.g., information security labels).”1
For example:
- Configuration data (hostnames, IPs, system running configuration, patching level, and so on.)
- Security Documentation
- Ticketing information with systems specific information
